WIP busts

I have been working on some busts of mech creatures. Goals for these guys are to create and overall style and look that is original to mine but still giving the feel of mechanical. The other goal is to successfully break them apart for 3D printing. This entails knowing what way is best for the layering of the machine and also knowing how it will project the detail. I have also placed some test prints in the slide. These are being used to test for detail and for mock up painting. It is always good to play with how you want it to look before you tackle it on your full scale model. I will talk more about this in greater detail in a later post.

3D Printing pen

This is a great toy for some but for me this is a very awesome addition to my 3d printing arsenal. More of a free form sculpting tool or additive flare to your prints. I find that everyday there seems to be a new and creative gadget or tool to add to your designing process. This one rocks!

Local Design Work

So this week I have been focusing on creating some shwag and just general store flash and bling for Visual Tattoo Arcata Ca. I found that Zbush is the easiest medium for me to sculpt and create elements in. The smaller red and white prints are proofs for a larger store sign I will be printing and the skull will be used for key chains . A larger print of the skull will also be made for the front desk.   I will keep you updated on further prints and proofs for this project.
